We thought we’d look into the advantages of having an instant boiling water tap in the home, showing what’s on offer and how each brand differs. why choose a boiling water taps
Including an instant boiling water tap is an excellent accessory to include in any new kitchen project. Most instant hot water taps today come with a variety of different functions alongside the standard boiling water – from hot and cold, to chilled and in some cases even sparkling. Perfect for all eventualities. Most brands offer tank sizes to suit a variety of family home sizes so you can rest assured you will always have boiling water to hand. Add-ons such as scale control units and water filters mean you can drink the purest of water straight from the tap.
Is it expensive to run? The initial outlay of most hot taps are £1K+. Quooker, (whose Fusion model is shown below) say their filtered boiling water taps can cost just 3p per day to run, yet a conventional kettle costs on average, 2.5p per boil.

Safety is a key element for Quooker, the addition of a ‘double tap and twist’ switch to activate the boiling water function, with a red led light which shows users filtered 100ºC boiling water is active makes this product virtually child proof. A fine spray nozzle, rather than a constant water flow is used to prevent scalding when coming into contact with skin.

For the safety of the users and children who may use it, the boiling lever itself has a triple safety feature comprising of a push-and-turn handle, a spring-loaded shut off and a unique child safety clip, making it difficult to ‘accidentally’ turn on.
